In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ball State athletics is inviting all fans to "Think Pink" at designated home events this weekend.

Ball State's football, soccer, cross country and women's volleyball teams are all at home this weekend.

Soccer kicks off the weekend with a 4 p.m. home game Friday vs. Eastern Michigan.  The women's cross country team hosts its only home event of the season Friday at 4:30 p.m.  The women's volleyball team will host Central Michigan Friday at 7 p.m.

The Cardinals football team will host Northern Illinois Saturday at 3 p.m.

In partnership with the Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Center and with the Side Out Foundation, Ball State athletics will wear pink and fundraise for cancer research and breast cancer screenings at designated games in October.

Ball State's field hockey team will use Sat., Oct. 20, vs. Miami University at noon as their designated "Think Pink" game.

At all "Think Pink" home games, the athletics staff will be selling pink bracelets and tote bags for $2 and accepting donations of any level.  Prior to the women's volleyball game, all fans can make donations and participate in a silent auction for a Dig Pink warm-up shirt.

In addition to the "Think Pink" initiative, Ball State fans are encouraged to participate in "Wear Red Friday" in support of all Cardinals athletics.

Ball State's football game Saturday is presented by Central Indiana Orthopedics and the winner of the Ball State vs. Northern Illinois rivalry will receive the Bronze Stalk Trophy.

Fans at the football game will receive pink thunder sticks courtesy of Yoplait, and it is also "Take A Kid To The Game Day."  Any adult who buys one general admission ticket will receive one youth general admission ticket FREE.

Ball State's Tailgate Town opens at noon for the 3 p.m. kickoff Saturday, and fans are encouraged to participate in the Cardinal Walk at 12:45 p.m.

Ball State's soccer and field hockey games as well as the home cross country meet this weekend are free admission for everyone.  To purchase tickets for Ball State football or volleyball, log on to www.ballstatesports.com or call 1.888.BSU.TICKET.
