Ball State's 438 student-athletes achieved an overall 3.064 grade-point average on the school's 4.0 scale in 2010-11. Fourteen of the school's 19 programs managed over a 3.0 GPA, while every team tallied a 2.56 or better.
In the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate Report, Ball State's athletic programs graduated 73 percent of its student-athletes from the freshman class of 2004-05 in a six year period.
The graduation rates are affected by a number of factors, including those who transfer or are dismissed for academic deficiencies. Ball State student-athletes graduated at a 13 percent higher rate than the general student body freshman class entering the university in 2004-05.
