Ball State athletics director Tom Collins has announced the hiring of two individuals to the athletics staff, and one university development officer will take on additional duties to assist athletics.
Brad Edmondson, who spent the past year as a director of development at Ball State, has been named the director of athletic development and executive director of the Cardinal Varsity Club.
Stephanie Arnold, director of development for the College of Communication, Information and Media at Ball State, will assume additional duties in athletic development with a focus on major gifts. She will have the additional title of assistant director of athletic development.
Stephanie Martin, who has served as the athletic business manager at Butler since 2007, has been named Ball State's director or athletic business services.
Edmondson has worked as a development officer for Ball State's Miller College of Business for the past year. Prior to coming to Ball State, Edmondson was a development officer at Marian University. From 2007-09, Edmondson was the general manager for IMG at Western Kentucky where he managed the total sponsorship sales effort for the athletics department. Edmondson served as the assistant athletic director for marketing at James Madison from 2003-07 after working in the Auburn athletic department in 2002-03. A marketing intern at Ball State in 1999-2000, Edmondson also worked as the client services coordinator for Walker Racing in 2000-01. Edmondson earned his bachelor's degree from Ball State in 1998, and his master's from Ball State in 2002.
Arnold was a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Archery Team and a member of the 2005 U.S. Archery Team. She has been a development officer at Ball State since 2008. Arnold also served as a member of the Governor's Council for Physical Fitness and Sports and been named a Sagamore of the Wabash. A graduate of Taylor, she is a former Director of Public Support for the American Red Cross in Muncie and a former executive with the Mayor of Portland, Ind. Her role will be to work with Edmondson in raising private gift support for Ball State athletics. Arnold is a 2000 graduate of Taylor.
Prior to her stint at Butler, Martin spent the 2006-07 year as an assistant to the athletic director at Marian University. From 2004-06, she worked at Methodist Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, Ind., and prior to that was the membership/traveling leadership consultant coordinator for Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Martin earned her bachelor's degree from Evansville in 2003.
