Soccer Opens Season Friday with IPFW at Home

The Ball State soccer team opens its regular season with two games this weekend, including a home contest Friday against IPFW.

The Cardinals and Mastodons will kick off at 5 p.m. Friday at the Briner Sports Complex in the season opener for both teams. Ball State will then travel to Wisconsin to wrap up its opening weekend at Green Bay on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT (2 ET).

Friday will mark the 300th game in the history of the Ball State women's soccer program as the Cardinals begin their 16th season of competition. The radio broadcast by WCRD will be streamed on

Ball State returns 20 letterwinners from a team that went 11-7-4 a year ago and reached the championship game of the Mid-American Conference Tournament for the first time in program history.

Included in that mix are four of the team's top five goal scorers from a year ago -- Victoria Jacobs (5), Elaina Musleh (4), Kelsey Wendlandt (4) and Nicole Pembleton (3).
