Soccer Signs Emma Crenshaw To NLI

                MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State soccer head coach Craig Roberts announced the signing of goalkeeper Emma Crenshaw (Lenexa, Kan./Johnson County CC) to a national letter of intent. Crenshaw will join the Cardinals for the 2012 season and will have three years eligibility remaining.

                She joins Kaila Mack (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville), Aubrey Hauenstein (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville), Ariane Struckmeier (Pattensen, Germany/Humboldtschule Hannover) and Morgan Whitfield (Riverdale, Utah/Bonneville) in this year's signing class.

Emma Crenshaw (Lenexa, Kan./Johnson County CC/Blue Valley West) - Goalkeeper

Johnson County CC: Played one season at Johnson County Community College in Kansas for coach Jim Schwab ... Earned First Team NJCAA All-Region 6 honors and First Team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) honors as a freshman ... Posted an 8-2-3 record on the year while leading JCCC to a 14-5-2 overall record ... Recorded seven shutouts while notching a 0.82 goals against average, which ranked 34th in the country ... Named NJCAA National Goalkeeper of the Week and KJCCC Verizon Wireless Goalkeeper of the Week in back-to-back weeks in September.

High School: Three-year letterwinner at Blue Valley West High School for coach Alex Aiman ... Named East Kansas League Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009 ... Led her team to the Kansas State Championship with a 21-2-0 record ... Two-time All-State, All-Metro and All-League selection ... Played club soccer for KCFC Intensity for coach Huw Williams for five years ... Led her team to five Kansas State championships and a 2008 Region II championship.

Personal: Daughter of Lucinda Winkley ... Born October 6, 1992 ... Full name is Emma Louise Crenshaw ... Has three sisters, Abby Kolich, Molly & Grace Crenshaw ... Intends to major in psychology.

Coach Roberts on Emma Crenshaw: "Emma is an outstanding goalkeeper. She has been recognized nationally for her ability and is ready to take it to the next level. She is a motivated and dedicated individual that will tighten up our back line. Her strong desire to play at the NCAA I will definitely make our goalkeeper position more competitive. I believe she has the ability to have a huge impact this year."
