MUNCIE, Ind. -- College Sports Madness announced its Preseason All-Mid-American Conference women's soccer teams recently, and Ball State was well-represented with three selections.

The website, which covers a variety of collegiate sports, selected BSU senior defender Brigit Reder to its 13-member all-conference first team and sophomore forward Jasmine Moses to its 13-member second team. Additionally, freshman midfielder/defender Kaila Mack was picked as the league's preseason Freshman of the Year.

Reder, a product of West Chester, Ohio, led Ball State and ranked 10th in the MAC last season with 16 points, the ninth-best single-season total in school history. She led all MAC defenders with seven goals, including a hat trick as part of a school-record seven-point performance versus Lamar. Reder helped the Cardinals to six shutouts on the year and was twice named the MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Moses tied Reder for team-high honors last year with seven goals to rank seventh in the conference as only a freshman. A member of the MAC All-Freshman Team, the Indianapolis product managed 14 total points a season ago and ranked second in the league with four game-winning goals.

Mack joins Ball State this fall as a freshman from Libertyville, Ill. Ranked as the 15th-best player in her signing class for the Midwest Region, Mack Led her club team to the Elite Club National League (ECNL) Championship in 2011 as well as the Illinois State Cup Championship.

Reder, Moses and Mack hope to help the Cardinals build on last year's 9-9-3 record as Ball State opens the 2012 season Friday at 3 p.m. against Marshall in Huntington, W. Va. Fans can follow the action with live stats at herdzone.com.

Local fans will get their first look at the Cardinals next weekend when Ball State hosts its own tournament Aug. 24 and Aug. 26 at Briner Sports Complex.
