Soccer Wraps Up Stellar Spring Campaign

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State soccer team concluded its strong spring season with a scoreless draw against a Canadian U-18 team that featured a majority of players heading to the Division I level. The Cardinals finished the spring with a 4-1-3 record, including three wins at the Briner Sports Complex.

"Overall, each one of our players made great gains this spring and are we very excited about the 2012 fall season," head coach Craig Roberts said. "We controlled the tempo of the game offensively and had numerous chances in the final third. Additionally, our defense was fantastic and did not allow many opportunities in our end of the field."

The Cardinals held the run of the play against the Canadian U-18 team, including having a goal disallowed in the 20th minute of action due to an offside call. Ball State also hit the cross bar on a couple of occasions in the scoreless 90 minutes of action.

Ball State out-scored its opponents 9-3 in the eight-game spring schedule, including five shutouts and no game allowing more than one goal. Eight different players found the back of the net for the Cardinals with sophomore Jasmine Moses (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) leading the way with goals against IUPUI and Findlay.
