Danny Peters joined the Ball State men's basketball staff as an assistant coach in June 2014 after serving the previous two years as the assistant director of basketball operations at the University of Arizona.

Peters, an Ohio State graduate, spent four years total with the men's basketball program at Arizona. The first three of those came while Ball State head coach James Whitford was on the Wildcats’ staff.

Peters oversaw Arizona’s video scouting efforts and was responsible for the organization, breakdown, scouting and presentation of game film. The Cincinnati native, who spent time in Indiana during his childhood, also supervised the academic progress of the Wildcat student-athletes. He served as the co-director of the Sean Miller Basketball Camps and coordinated outreach with former Arizona players. Prior to his role as assistant director of basketball operations, Peters was a graduate manager for the Wildcats.

Peters earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio State in 2010. He originally worked as a manager with the Buckeye men's basketball team in 2005-06 before joining the team's active roster as a player for his final four years in Columbus, Ohio. He appeared in 35 games during his career for coach Thad Matta and was a part of three Big Ten regular season championships and two conference tournament titles. The Buckeyes were the national runner-up in 2006-07.

Peters is the son of long-time coach Dan Peters, who is now the director of basketball operations at Akron. Among the coaching stops for the elder Peters are stints as head coach at Youngstown State and St. Joseph’s (Ind.) College and as an assistant at Ohio State and Cincinnati.
