MUNCIE, Ind. - Morry Mannies spent 56 seasons as the Voice of the Cardinals calling the play-by-play for both men's basketball and football. Mannies called his final home game March 3, 2012 with the Cardinals' victory over Northern Illinois and had his final game on air March 5, 2012 in the Mid-American Conference Tournament at Western Michigan.
Mannies spent 56 years at the microphone broadcasting Cardinals' games this year. During the past 56 years, Mannies has broadcast over 5,500 Ball State and high school football and basketball games and logged over 30,000 hours behind the microphone for WLBC/WXFN Radio in Muncie. He has served as Ball State's play-by-play announcer for both football and men's basketball since 1956. Mannies is a three-time winner of the Indiana Sportscaster of the Year Award and a three-time recipient of the Mid-American Conference Sportscaster of the Year honor.
