MUNCIE, Ind. – Junior Courtney Wild (Carmel, Ind.) and sophomore Courtney Earnest (Lexington, Ohio) of the Ball State women's tennis team have earned All-Mid-American Conference First Team accolades.  The All-MAC honors are voted on by the league's coaches and were announced by the conference office Wednesday.

"On behalf of Courtney and Courtney, I know they'd like to thank their team mates, staff, and administration for helping them earn this honor," Ball State Head Women's Tennis Coach said.  "Courtney and Courtney have really changed what it means to be Ball State women's tennis. Both in their own ways lead and compete in a way that makes me proud to coach them. They are driven women who have and will be able to accomplish great things in life and tennis. This is an indication of our teams success though too and that cannot be forgotten. The other players on the team along with these two have really contributed to the season we have had."

Wild was named All-MAC First Team for the third straight season.   From March 29 to April 5 she won three straight league matches.  She was named MAC Player of the Week (April 9) for the third time in her career after opening MAC play with wins over Akron and Buffalo, helping the Cardinals to a 2-0 start to the conference schedule.  Wild currently owns a 12-7 overall mark and a 5-3 league ledger at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles position.

This is Earnest's first time to receive All-MAC First Team accolades.  Earnest was on the All-MAC Second Team as a freshman.  She leads the Cardinals with an overall dual mark of 16-5, including a 6-2 MAC campaign.  She opened MAC play with a 5-0 ledger which included league wins over Northern Illinois, Miami, Akron, Buffalo and Toledo.  She earned MAC Singles Player of the Week honors once (Jan. 24) and MAC Doubles Player of the Week honors April 9 & April 23.

The Ball State women's tennis team will be the No. 2 seed in this weekend’s 2014 Mid-American Conference Tournament which will be hosted by the Miami RedHawks in Oxford, Ohio, at the Hepburn Varsity Tennis Courts (April 25-27).
