MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team opens the 2014 Mid-American Conference season Friday when it hosts Northern Illinois at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center beginning at 1 p.m., weather permitting.

Ball State will face the Huskies in its first league match playing three doubles and six singles matches.  The Cardinals won their lone meeting over the Huskies in 2013 in DeKalb, Ill., by a score of 5-2.  Ball State ended the MAC regular season with a 5-3 record and advanced to the semifinals of the MAC Tournament after taking down Western Michigan for the first time since 1998.
