MUNCIE, Ind. - Ball State women's tennis player Courtney Earnest was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the first time in her career for her performance last week.
Earnest started the 2014 season with a 3-0 start in singles after defeating Valparaiso's Paige Heuer (6-3, 6-0) at the No. 2 position and IUPUI's Vanessa Whyte (6-1, 6-3) at No. 1 singles. She helped the Cardinals to a 7-0 sweep over both teams and a 2-0 start for the year. Earnest also claimed a (3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (8) victory over Kentucky's Kelsey Dieters at the No. 2 spot. Earnest also went 2-1 at No. 2 doubles.
