Women's Tennis Competes At Cincinnati Invite

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team continued its fall action at the University of Cincinnati Invitational Friday in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Cardinals notched four singles victories over host Cincinnati.  Courtney Wild took down Kelly Poggensee-Wei, 6-4, 5-7 (6) while teammate Courtney Earnest posted a victory in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4 against Ashleigh Witte.  Kristel Sanders collected a 6-4, 6-2 win versus Caitlin O'Gara.  Rounding out the wins in singles action for Ball State was Bethany Moore who defeated Katya Bure, 6-3, 7-5.

Moore and Sanders paired up to claim an 8-4 win over Xavier's Alex Brinker and Sydney Liggins.  Also earning a doubles victory on the day was the Ball State twosome of Toni Ormond and Earnest after beating the Musketeers Cristina Di Lornezo and Daniella Patton, 8-7 (4).

The Ball State women's tennis team will resume play at the University of Cincinnati Invitational Saturday with two rounds of singles and one round of doubles.
