WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Ball State women's tennis team continues its fall season this weekend when it faces 12 opponents at the Wake Forest Invitational at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
"We had a very strong first day at our invitational last weekend," said head coach Christine Bader. "I was pleased with our doubles, we finished third in flight A and won flights B and C. For the tournament this weekend, we are looking to build off last weekend’s invitational and continue to improve."
The Cardinals will compete against, Appalachian State, Campbell, Charlotte, Davidson, Elon, ETSU, Maryland, Richmond, Stetson, UNCG, Wake Forest and Winthrop.
The three day tournament, which runs Friday through Sunday, is set up as a compass draw format with 16 players in each singles flight and eight competitors in doubles. At the end of round one, the winners will go to the east of the bracket and the losers go west.
After this weekend, Ball State has two fall tournaments remaining, the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, Oct. 18 and Cincinnati, Nov. 1.
