WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team concluded day two at the ITA Ohio Valley regionals Friday evening at Purdue University.
Freshman Courtney Earnest who played her way into the main draw after winning back-to-back matches in Thursday's qualifying round lost to host Purdue's Gisella Pere in straight sets. Sophomore Courtney Wild fell to Lauren Mira of Vanderbilt by a score of 6-1, 6-4. Freshman Ayaka Terashi also lost in the main draw round of 64. Earnest, Wild and Terashi will all compete in the consolation round Saturday.
In doubles action Ball State had two teams compete in the main flight, Wild and freshman Bethany Moore paired up together but lost to Vanderbilt, 8-1. The twosome of Earnest and junior Kristel Sanders also competed today but fell 8-4 to Purdue.
