Women’s Tennis Completes Day One at Spartan Invite

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team finished day one's competition at the Auto Owners Spartan Invitational held by Michigan State Friday evening.

Freshman Courtney Earnest paired up with senior Paola Rodriguez for the 8-4 victory over Cleveland State's Alex Power and Maria Lazaris in the doubles draw B flight.  In Draw C doubles, Lauren Pickerel and teammate Kristel Sanders took down Marquette 9-8 (3). 

In singles action Ayaka Terashi defeated Anita Henestrosa, 7-6 (3), 6-1 in the singles A flight. Sophomore Courtney Wild was a winner in Flight B singles after posting a straight set victory over UIC's Natalie Kuvankina.  Freshman Bethany Moore was also a winner in her respective flight. 

The Ball State women's tennis team continues action at the Auto Owners Spartan Invitational Saturday.
