Women's Tennis Suffers 7-0 Loss to Miami Saturday

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team (5-15, 0-8 MAC) finished its Mid-American Conference regular season after suffering a 7-0 loss to Miami Saturday afternoon at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center.

Before the match the Cardinals paid tribute to their three seniors, Dena Boulieris, Sarah Hebble and Kyle Johnson.  The three seniors lettered all four years for Ball State.

The Cardinals headed into singles action down 1-0 to the RedHawks after Miami clinched the doubles point, winning on all three courts. 

Ball State went on to drop all but one match in straight sets during singles play, freshman Courtney Wild (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) was the lone Cardinal to go three sets at No. 1 singles, but lost to Stephanie Danesis, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.

The Ball State women's tennis team will begin its MAC Tournament play, Thursday at Northern Illinois.  Details about the tournament will be announced by the conference office Sunday.

No.  1 Courtney Wild loses to Stephanie Danesis, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5

No. 2 Kristel Sanders loses to Riekie Honiball, 6-3, 6-4

No. 3 Kylee Johnson loses to Nimisha Mohan, 6-1, 6-3

No. 4 Ashlyn Rang loses to Christiana Raymond, 6-2, 6-1

No. 5 Sarah Hebble loses to Alix Thurman, 6-2, 6-4

No. 6 Dena Boulieris loses to Christine Guerrazzi, 6-0, 6-1
