Ball State Women's Tennis Begins MAC Action:  The Ball State women's tennis team begins Mid-American Conference action Friday when it travels to Buffalo.  The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.  The Cardinals play their first four league matches on the road Buffalo (Friday), Akron (Saturday), Eastern Michigan (March 30) and Toledo (March 31).  Ball State will then finish the season at home as it hosts Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, IPFW and Miami.  After finishing the regular season the Cardinals will then travel to Northern Illinois for its MAC Championship (April 26-29).

Head Coach Christine Bader Enters Second Season:  Head Coach Christine Bader, who spent two seasons as the head women's tennis coach at Evansville, was named the fourth head coach in Ball State women's tennis history in the spring of 2010.  The 2011-12 season marks Bader's second year at the helm of the Cardinals.  In 2008-09 Bader became the youngest head coach in UE's NCAA Division I history.  She left Evansville after compiling an overall record of 23-18. One of Bader's players Kate Chybowski recently earned the Missouri Valley Conference State Farm Good Neighbor Award and was also tabbed Capital One Academic All-District.  Bader, a native of Okemos, Mich., is a former All-Big Ten Conference performer for Michigan State.

Wild Not Playing Like a True Freshman:  True freshman Courtney Wild is playing like an upperclassmen for the Cardinals as she currently owns a combined fall and spring 15-8 singles mark.  Wild also plays at the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles positions for Ball State.  She leads the Cardinals with an overall record of 8-4 in spring action.
