Christine Bader, who spent two seasons as the head women's tennis coach at Evansville, was named the fourth head coach in Ball State women's tennis history in the spring of 2010. The 2012-13 season marks Bader's second year at the helm of the Cardinals.

Under Bader's tutelage the Ball State women's tennis program's recruiting class was ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division I by for the 2011-12 class. The Cardinals signed Ashlyn Rang and Courtney Wild for the 2011-12 season. Ball State (18) joins Miami (7) as the only schools from the Mid-American Conference that had a nationally ranked recruiting class. Ball State was ranked above Montana, Wofford, Charlotte, Johns Hopkins, Houston, Gonzaga and UMass. Ball State was also the lone school from the state of Indiana to earn a top-25 ranking.

Also in 2011-12 Ball State advanced to the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament after defeating Toledo. Bader also coached Courtney Wild to First Team All-MAC honors as a true freshman.

In 2008-09 Bader became the youngest head coach in UE's NCAA Division I history. She left Evansville after compiling an overall record of 23-18. One of Bader's players Kate Chybowski recently earned the Missouri Valley Conference State Farm Good Neighbor Award and was also tabbed Capital One Academic All-District.

Bader, a native of Okemos, Mich., is a former All-Big Ten Conference performer for Michigan State. She graduated from Michigan State in 2008 with a degree in business management. During her playing career for the Spartans, Bader became only the third player in history to receive All-Big Ten honors twice in her career. She was a First Team All-Big Ten selection during her sophomore year, which was the first time an MSU player had received the award since 1993.

As a senior at Michigan State, Bader posted an 18-14 No. 1 singles and doubles record. She was one of three Spartans to earn a national ranking after finishing her senior season ranked 113th in singles. Not only was Bader successful on the court but off the court as well, earning the Big Ten Sportmanship Award in women's tennis in 2005 and 2007.

A three-time team captain of the Spartans, Bader has instructed youth with their developmental skills as a Nike tennis camp instructor at Michigan State, the University of Alabama, and the College of William and Mary. She has also served as a private lessons instructor.
