Ball State baseball's senior pitcher T.J. Weir has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week for his performance in the Cardinals' games last week.
Weir pitched a complete game win in Ball State’s 3-2 win Saturday over Western Michigan and struck out a career high 14 batters, while allowing zero earned runs.
Weir also pitched two innings in the Cardinals' 8-6 win at Ohio State to register the save, and struck out four batters, while allowing zero earned runs.
For the week, Weir pitched 11 innings, allowing zero earned runs and striking out 18 batters.
Weir also served as the designated hitter at Ohio State and was 1-for-5 with two runs-batted-in and one homerun.
With a 3-1 record last week -- one over Ohio State and 3-of-4 over Western Michigan -- Ball State improved to 27-13 overall and 11-3 in the MAC.
Ball State will play at Indiana Wednesday and then return to MAC action with a three-game series at Central Michigan Friday through Sunday.
