Ball State's baseball team is in a 13-13 tie after nine innings with Buffalo in a game that was suspended due to darkness Friday night.  The game will be completed Saturday at noon and the regularly scheduled Saturday game will start after the completion.

The Cardinals raced out to an 8-1 lead after three innings, but the Bulls responded with a four-run fourth to close the gap to 8-5 through four.  Ball State rallied back for a four-run fifth inning and took a 12-6 lead through five innings.

Buffalo managed four runs in the final three innings, including one run in the bottom of the ninth, to tie the game at 13-13.

T.J. Weir started the game on the mound for the Cardinals and lasted five innings, striking out eight and allowing six earned runs.  Tyler Jordan pitched 2.1 innings before turning it over to Zach Plesac.

In the second inning, Ball State managed its three runs on one hit and with the help of two Buffalo errors.

Ball State's five-run third inning was highlighted by a leadoff Jarrett Rindfleish homer to left center field.  Alex Maloney doubled to left to score two and then scored on a Ryan Spaulding shot to right center field.  The Cardinals rallied for five runs on five hits in the inning.

With an 8-5 lead through four innings, Ball State managed a four-run fifth frame to take a 12-5 edge.  The four runs on six hits were highlighted by a Spaulding leadoff home run down the left field line.  Sean Godfrey singled and a Rindfleish single up the middle scored Godfrey.  Caleb Stayton singled to right to score Rindfleish and Maloney's single to left scored Sean Kennedy.

Ball State's final run of the game came in the sixth inning after Godfrey walked to start the inning, advanced to second on an error and moved to third on a balk before scoring on a wild pitch.
