This weekend marks the beginning of a stretch in which the Cardinals play 10 of their last 13 games on the road to close out the regular season ... The Cardinals and Rockets will play Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Scott Park ... Ball State will send the same rotation to the hill this weekend as it used in last weekend's series victory over Eastern Michigan as right-hander T.J. Weir gets the call Friday, right-hander Chris Marangon Saturday and right-hander Jacob Brewer Sunday ... Toledo will counter with left-hander Ryan Wilkinson Friday, right-hander Matt Kuna Saturday and right-hander Mike Hamann Sunday.
Weir will be making his 11th appearance and 10th start of the season Friday afternoon .. He has a 2-6 record with a 6.02 ERA in 52.1 innings of work while striking out 40 and walking 16 ... In his last four starts, he has worked 26.2 innings and allowed eight runs while striking out 18 batters ... Last weekend, he picked up the victory over Eastern Michigan working 6.0 innings and allowing three runs on seven hits.
Marangon will be making his 16 appearance and sixth start of the season, including third straight start ... He has a 1-4 record with a 4.50 ERA in 44.0 innings of work while striking out 19 and walking 22 ... He got the hard-luck loss last weekend against EMU despite working 8.2 innings and allowing just three runs on only two hits.
Brewer will be making his 13th appearance and sixth start of the season, second straight in the weekend rotation ...
