Ball State baseball held its annual "Meet The Team Night" prior to the season and had over 200 people in attendance, including distinguished guests in President Gora and her husband Roy Bud, as well as, athletics director Bill Scholl.

A live auction fundraiser was conducted by Steve and Julie Raleigh, parents of Ball State baseball student-athlete Kyle Raleigh.  The food, fellowship, and auction were all a big hit with a total of $6,000 raised for the program.

There was an autograph session prior to the Meet the Team dinner, and the Ball State players introduced themselves and shared their experiences at Ball State and their expectations for a successful season.

The morning of the event, the Ball State coaches and players ran a youth hitting clinic with about 85 youngsters in attendance.  The clinic raised approximately $4,000.

Ball State’s baseball team, which boasts an overall team grade-point average of 3.025 on the school’s 4.0 scale, is off to a 6-2 start to the season.  The start is the best for the Cardinals since starting 6-2 in 1998.  Ball State will travel to Lynchburg, Va., Friday through Sunday for games with Liberty and Rider.

You can follow every Ball State baseball game and listen to postgame interviews with head coach Rich Maloney on the radio on  All Ball State home games are played at Ball Diamond on the school’s campus and are free of charge to all fans.
