MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State men's swimming and diving team will have its first taste of competitive swimming Saturday, Oct. 27 as it hosts the Red-White inter squad scrimmage.
The 2012-13 squad boasts six newcomers and 13 letterwinners. The team is led by senior Michael Weber (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic) and juniors Drew Tharp (Evansville, Ind./Reitz Memorial) and Cameron Joseph Morris (South Bend, Ind./Clay). Weber is in the BSU record books with the second-fastest 200 back and third-best 200 IM in school history. Additionally, Weber has been on two record-setting relays, the 200 and 400 medley relays. Tharp owns the second-fastest 200 fly while Morris has the third-best 100 breast.
The Cardinals will open up the 2012-13 campaign at Eastern Illinois on Friday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. The men will not have a home meet until the Coers Invitational which will be held Nov. 16-17. BSU will have home meets on Jan. 19 vs. Eastern Michigan and on Jan. 25 vs. Evansville.
