Women's Swim and Dive Honors 2013-14 Season

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women’s swimming and diving team celebrated the 2013-14 season at its annual end of season banquet. Seven student-athletes were honored in awards handed out and tribute was paid to the eight graduating seniors.

Seniors Jackie Iglesias and Emily Wisolek were given the Student Athlete award after earning a 4.0 cumulative GPA from the 2013 spring and fall semesters.

The Newcomer of the Year was given to Jessica Extine, a member of the 200 free relay that broke a 17-year old school record at the 2014 MAC Championships. Extine earned a bronze medal at the MAC Championships after swimming the anchor leg of the 200 medley relay. The Strength and Conditioning Award went to freshmen Katie Horn and Quinn Bixler.

Sophomore diver Madie Zirzow earned the Catherine Somenzi Memorial Scholarship while junior freestyler Jordan VanWinkle earned the David and Sandy Spade Family Scholarship.

The team recognize outgoing team captains Mallory Miles and Haley Richter and welcomed the new captains for the 2014-15 season Carlena Magley and Leighann Mattson.

Congratulations to the women’s swimming and diving team on a great season and best of luck to graduating seniors Sumaiyah Ahmad, Jackie Iglesias, Cheyanne Jackson, Mallory Miles, Haley Richter, Bridgette Ruehl, Stacey Wierman and Emily Wisolek.
