COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ball State women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its regular season action Sunday afternoon at the Ohio State Winter Invitational. Freshman Courtney Mudd earned an individual win in the 200 individual medley.
After clocking a 2:14.11 in the preliminaries, Mudd improved on that time by five seconds to finish with a first-place time of 2:08.85 to earn the only Ball State win at the invitational. Senior Jackie Iglesias turned in a time of 2:17.58 in the preliminaries. Mudd finished in fourth place in the 50 free finals with a 24.87 after clocking a 24.78 in the preliminaries.
Freshman Genevieve Hayes finished in fourth place in the 1650 free with a time of 18:15.96. Hayes also finished ninth in the 200 back finals with a 2:19.93 after touching at 2:16.39 during the preliminaries. In the 200 back finals, senior Jackie Iglesias turned in a fourth-place time of 2:05.912.
The Ball State women's swimming and diving team will travel to the MAC Championships which will be held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio Thursday, Feb. 27 to Saturday, March 1. Check ballstatesports.com for more news and information.
