MUNCIE, Ind. – On the heels of one of the most successful seasons on record, the Ball State women’s swimming and diving team was named a 2013 CSCAA Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. In addition, three Cardinals were named to the Honorable Mention Scholar All-American list.
The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the same semester/quarter of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The Cardinals finished with a 3.45 GPA which ranks fourth among teams in the Mid-American Conference.
Seniors Mallory Miles, Haley Richter and Emily Wisolek earned the distinction of being named to the Honorable Mention Scholar All-American list. In order to be named to the honorable mention list swimmers and divers had to achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have achieved a “B” time standard, but did not qualify to compete in their respective national championship. The athlete’s GPA in the semester/quarter coinciding with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships determines the honorable mention award.
Congratulation to the women’s swimming and diving team for getting it done in the pool and in the classroom. Keep track of the Ball State women’s swimming and diving team by checking ballstatesports.com.
