Women's S&D Defeat Illinois State 173-127
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women’s swimming and diving team defeated Illinois State 173-127 Monday afternoon at the Lewellen Aquatics Center. The Cardinals registered eight individual and two relays wins on the day.
Emily Wisolek earned a win in the 200 free, her third win in that event this season, with a time of 1:54.76. Cheyanne Jackson finished third with a time of 1:58.75, while Elaine Pitsas clocked a 2:00.99.
In the 100 back, Pratt secured a win with a time of 58.80. Larah Beaver came in at 1:00.78 for second place, while Jackie Iglesias finished fifth with a clocking of 1:02.64. Wisolek earned the win in the 200 back with a season-best time of 2:05.70. Mallory Miles finished second (2:10.08) and Kayla Hussey earned fifth (2:16.36).
Sumaiyah Ahmad earned her first 100 breast win of the season with a time of 1:07.59. Cori Vormohr was not too far behind and finished second with a time of 1:08.47. Dana Graunke earned fifth with a season-best time of 1:09.87. Ruehl won the 200 breast with a time of 2:22.28, while Ahmad finished second at 2:27.78. Cori Vormohr earned fifth with a clocking of 2:30.47.
Magley registered her fifth individual win of the season by clocking a 24.28 in the 50 free. Jillian Bischoff came in second (24.95), while Mallory Przybylinski finished sixth (25.47). Magley would also come up victorious in the 100 free with a time of 53.24. Iglesias finished third and Larah Beaver came in fourth with times of 54.83 and 55.08, respectively.
Richter earned another win in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.32. Stacey Wierman came in third with a time of 2:11.42, while Ruehl earned fifth with a time of 2:14.89.
The 200 free relay of Wisolek, Bischoff, Vormohr and Magley came in first place with a time of 1:38.08.
In the diving competitions, Madie Zirzow earned second place in the 3-meter with a score of 282.82and finished fourth in the 1-meter with a mark of 234.97. Natalie Grissom captured second in the 1-meter with a score of 240.90 and finished third in the 3-meter with a mark of 231.60.
Richter and Miles finished second and third in the 200 fly with times of 2:07.91 and 2:12.25, respectively. In the 1000 free, Hussey finished third touching at 11:00.21 while Leighann Mattson earned fifth with a time of 11:06.27. In the 500 free, Pratt finished second with a time of 5:14.18. Jackson and Mattson rounded out the event with times of 5:19.04 and 5:22.48, respectively. Miles came in second in the 100 fly (58.40), Mackenzie Imbro earned fourth (1:00.50) and Elaine Pitsas swam a season-best 1:01.66 for fifth.
