MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women’s swimming and diving team heads to Eastern Illinois to battle the Redbirds on Friday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. The Cardinals are 2-0 in dual meets this season, most recently earning a win over Bowling Green.
Last season these two squads faced off at Lewellen Aquatics Center with the Cardinals handedly defeating the Redbirds 203-74. Ball State won all 16 events, while three Cardinals were able to secure victories in two individual events.
Haley Richter (Roanoke, Ind./Columbia City) won the 100 back and 100 free while Bridgette Ruehl (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) tallied wins in the 100 and 200 breast. Emily Wisolek (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) added wins in the 200 back and 100 fly.
The Cardinals are coming off a 176.5-117.5 win over the Bowling Green Falcons in Muncie. Richter claimed three individual wins and was also on the winning 200 medley relay. Katelyn Pratt (Greenville, Ohio/Greenville) secured victories in the 100 and 200 back while Carlena Magley (Waterloo, Ind./DeKalb) posted a win in the 50 free. Ruehl continued her winning ways in the 100 and 200 breast.
