MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's swimming and diving team will host its annual Red & White meet this Saturday, Oct. 6, at noon at Lewellen Aquatic Center.
The team will be divided into two squads, with each swimmer competing in a 100 meter race of each stroke (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) as well as a 200 individual medley and a 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay. The divers will compete in three dives at the 1M and three dives at the 3M height.
"The team has started the season off with an outstanding work ethic," said head coach Kristy Castillo. "We'll be able to evaluate where we are at with our training [with the Red & White meet]. This competition will be a good way to find our strengths as we prepare for some contests on the road in the coming weeks."
The Cardinals' season opener will come on Oct. 20 at the Indiana Intercollegiate hosted by Purdue University. The women's team will have five home meets this season after the Red & White meet.
The event is free and open to the public. Check ballstatesports.com this season for updates and information about women's swimming and diving.
