MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State swimming & diving staff is pleased to announce that its 33rd annual Swimming Camp will take place beginning May 14-18 at BSU's Lewellen Aquatic Center in Muncie, Ind.
The Swim Camp and 3-Day Swim Camps are designed for young athletes 8-18 years and teach the latest trends and training techniques in swimming. Athletes will learn how to mentally and physically prepare for competition.
The overnight 6-Day Swim Camp costs $570 (commuters ($450, meals included) and runs from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. in two sessions, June 3-8 and June 10-15.
The overnight 3-Day Swim Camp is for ages 7-18, costs $285 (commuters $225, meals included) and runs Friday, June 22 at 5 p.m. to Sunday, June 24 at 4 p.m.
The Day Camp is a shorter version, yet similar to the other camps in content. It runs from 4-6:00 p.m. May 14-18 and costs $150.
The High School Swimming Training Camp is a special camp designed exclusively for swimmers in high school or entering high school. It runs June 17-22 and costs $575.
Additional members of the men’s and women’s coaching staff & student-athletes will be coaches and counselors at camp. Counselors will be living in the residence halls with the campers to assure safety and supervision.

Laura Seibold-Caudill - 33 years as head coach for the Ball State Women’s Team and 6 years as the co-head coach for the Men’s & Women’s Teams. Laura is a former three time collegiate All-American diver and graduate of Michigan State University. Laura was a National Finalist in the AAU Senior Nationals and competed in the 1976 U.S. Olympic Trials, Pan American Game Trials, and World Game Trials. Before coming to Ball State, she was the assistant swimming and head diving coach at the University of Virginia. While at Ball State, she has been the Mid-American Coach of the Year two times and has developed numerous MAC Champions, NCAA finalist, Sr.National finalists, and Olympic Trial Qualifiers.
- 33 years as head coach for the Ball State Men’s Team and 6 years as the co-head coach for the Men’s & Women’s Teams. Bob is a graduate of Eastern Illinois, where he achieved 14 NAIA and NCAA national titles. Prior to his arrival at Ball State, Coach Thomas coached successful USS, High School, and Junior College swimming teams in Illinois. As Mid-American Coach of the year four times, Coach Thomas has developed 38 MAC champions and numerous Senior National Finalists and Olympic Trial Qualifiers. He continues his own swimming at the Masters level and is the past Backstroke National Champion in addition to numerous other National Championship titles and national records.
