MUNCIE, Ind. - Despite wins in five events, the Ball State women's swimming & diving team suffered a 178-122 setback to Mid-American Conference foe Miami Friday evening at Lewellen Aquatic Center.
The Cardinals posted their first of four individual event wins in the 100 back as sophomore Haley Richter (Roanoke, Ind./Columbia City) clocked in with a time of 57.49.
Sophomore Bridgette Ruehl (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) followed with a first-place performance in the 100 breast (1:05.16) and also tallied a win in the 200 breast (2:22.11).
Sophomore Emily Wisolek (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) scored a win for Ball State in the 500 free (5:08.86), while the first-place 400 freestyle relay of freshman Carlena Magley (Waterloo, Ind./DeKalb), sophomore Jackie Iglesias (Aurora, Ind./West Aurora), Richter and Wisolek clocked in with a season-best time of 3:31.11.
Ball State returns to action Saturday as the Cardinals host the Toledo Rockets starting at 1 p.m. from Lewellen Aquatic Center.
