Women’s Golf Hands out Postseason Awards

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State women's golf team handed out its 2013-14 postseason awards this summer.

Jenna Hague was named the team's golfer of the year and most improved golfer. Sarah Westaway was selected as the most inspirational golfer, Meghan Perry received the coach's award, and Kelsey Sear was tabbed the team's freshman of the year.

Jenna Hague: Golfer of the Year, Most Improved Golfer
Hague broke the program's single-season scoring average record at 74.34 on her way to nine top-10 finishes and two wins. She became the second Ball State women's golfer ever chosen for NCAA Regional competition. The three-time All-Mid-American Conference selection from Burlington, Ontario, will enter her senior season already tied for the most individual wins in MAC history with six.

Sarah Westaway: Elizabeth Dunn Most Inspirational Golfer
Westaway was named the MAC Sportswoman of the Year by her fellow competitors at the MAC Championships. She managed four top-20 finishes, including a pair of top-10 results, during her final season with the Cardinals. The St. Thomas, Ontario, product joined Hague as an Academic All-MAC and Women' Golf Coaches Association Scholar All-America selection. She finished the season with a 79.10 stroke average.

Meghan Perry: Coach's Award
Perry posted the team's second-best stroke average for the year at 79.03. She managed three top-20 finishes, including a pair of top-10 showings. The Evansville, Ind., product had her best finish of the season with a tie for fourth place at Bowling Green's Dolores Black Falcon Invitational.

Kelsey Sear: Freshman of the Year
Sear played in five tournaments on the year and posted her first collegiate victory at the Marian University Spring Classic. She also tied for 12th at the Butler Spring Invitational. The Unionville, Ontario, product finished her rookie campaign with an 82.70 stroke average.
