MUNCIE, Ind. -- For the fifth time this season and the 10th time in her career, Ball State junior Jenna Hague has been named the Mid-American Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Hague won her second straight golfer-of-the-week honor Thursday after tying for third place over the weekend in a field of 96 golfers at the Rio Verde Invitational.
The Burlington, Ontario, product was the top individual finisher from any of the eight MAC teams that competed on the Quail Run course at Rio Verde Country Club in Arizona.
She carded a 54-hole total of 222 (+9) to finish three strokes off the lead. Her 71 on the closing day matched the low round of the tournament by any player and was one of only two scores of even-par in the final round.
Hague finished among the top 10 for the ninth straight tournament and placed in the top three for the third time in the past four. She now owns a scoring average of 72.90 for the season and ranks 40th in the Golfstat Cup race for the nation’s best adjusted stroke average.
Ball State finished in eighth place out of 18 teams at the Rio Verde Invitational. The Cardinals will play again March 24-25 at the UALR Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
