WOLCOTT, Colo. -- With scores continuing to rise in challenging conditions at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, the Ball State women’s golf team will enter Wednesday's final round in 12th place.

The Cardinals posted a team score of 324 on Tuesday to bring their two-day total to 641 on the Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club.

With the average individual score higher than 80 for the second day in a row, Ball State’s Jenna Hague backed up her even-par first round with a 76 to stay in contention. Despite a late triple bogey, she still sits in sixth place at 4-over par for the tournament.

Pepperdine’s Marissa Chow and Grace Na are the only golfers better than par at 3-under and 2-under, respectively, to lead the event.

The Waves are also on top of the team leaderboard with a 9-over par total of 585. UC Davis (+31) is second and East Tennessee State (+33) is third.

Ball State finds itself in a bunched second half of a quality 18-team field that includes 11 top-100 squads from a year ago.

Meghan Perry turned in the Cardinals’ second-best round Tuesday with an 80, while Sarah Westaway posted an 82. Westaway is tied for 45th individually with a 36-hole total of 160.

Mary Welch was the fourth counter Tuesday for Ball State with a round of 86.

The third and final round gets underway Wednesday at 9 a.m. MT (11 a.m. ET) with a shotgun start. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
