Women’s Golf: Saturday's Angola Shootout Now 18 Holes

UPDATE: Play has now been delayed until 1:15 p.m. Saturday because of snow on the course.  The tournament had already been shortened from 36 holes to 18 holes because of cold temperatures.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Ball State women’s golf team heads up Interstate 69 to Angola, Ind., this weekend to host the Angola Shootout at Glendarin Hills Golf Club.

The one-day event is now scheduled for a 1:15 p.m. shotgun start Saturday. The tournament was originally scheduled to begin earlier Saturday and feature 36 holes, but it has been shortened to 18 holes because of cold temperatures.

The field will include seven teams, including six from the Mid-American Conference: Ball State, Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan. Cleveland State will round out the field.

Ball State’s team lineup this weekend will feature Meghan Perry, Autumn Duke, Jenna Hague, Zoe Camus and Sarah Westaway. Additionally, Karley Dobis, Mary Welch and Brenna Obergfell will be competing as individuals.

The Cardinals are coming off a fifth-place finish as a team at last weekend’s Indiana Invitational. Perry and Duke tied for 20th to lead the team individually.

Glendarin Hills will play to a par-72, 6,142-yard layout for Saturday’s event.

This weekend marks the final tune-up for the Cardinals before the Mid-American Conference Championship, which gets underway April 26 at Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
