Men's Tennis Ends Day One at Milwaukee Classic
MARQUETTE, Wis. - The Ball State men's tennis team opened fall play today at the 37th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic hosted by Marquette University.
The Cardinals started out strong at its 2 p.m. match after winning four out of the seven singles matches against Marquette. Senior Cliff Morrison took down David Packowitz in straight sets, 7-6, 7-5. Sophomore Patrick Elliott claimed a 6-4, 7-6 victory over Gleb Skylr while teammate junior Austin Smith beat James Stark in three. Senior Austin Sansone was also a winner after defeating Cameron Tehrani, 6-2, 6-2.
In the late afternoon session, Ball State took on DePaul in doubles play winning all three matches. The twosome of Dalton Albertin and Ray Leonard defeated Mathias Hambach and Jan-Willem Feitzer, 8-5. Alexandre Brym paired up with Sansone and earned the 8-5 victory over Filip Dzanko and Kyle Johnson. Rounding out today's double competition was Smith and freshman Ben Bryan who took down Adam Reinhart and Paul John, 8-5.
Ball State men's tennis continues action at the 37th annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic Saturday, when it faces Big Ten foe Wisconsin at 10 a.m.
