INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Ball State University men's tennis team earned a 6-1 road victory at in-state rival Butler Wednesday evening. With the win the Cardinals improved to 11-12 on the season.
BSU took the early 1-0 edge over the Bulldogs after winning the doubles point. The No. 1 twosome of Dalton Albertin and Cliff Morrison took down Butlers Herron and Ervin by a score of 8-1. Andres Monroy alongside teammate Austin Smith captured the 8-1 doubles victory at the No. 3 slot.
In singles the Cardinals won five out of the six matches. Sansone improved his overall mark in singles action to 15-12 on the season with his straight set win over DiCarlo.
The Ball State men's tennis team returns to Mid-American Conference action as they host league rival Western Michigan Saturday at 1 p.m. The match will be played at Cardinal Creek Tennis Center weather permitting.
