MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University men's tennis team won its doubleheader Sunday after claiming a 4-3 victory over Wisconsin-Green Bay and then defeated Dayton 4-0 in the night cap. With the wins today Ball State has improved its overall record to 8-2.
The Cardinals took the early lead in both matches with the No. 1 doubles tandem of Zane Smith and Derek Carpenter going 2-0 today helping the Cardinals claim the doubles points. Austin Sansone paired up with teammate Shaun Bussert versus UWGB at the No. 3 spot winning 8-5 and Dave Thomas along with Jon Wegener defeated Dayton's Alex Crum and Sean Bandy.
In singles action Dalton Albertin won both of his matches at No. 1. Other winners on the day were Zane Simth, Sansone and Wegener.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues action March 4 at Big Ten foe Illinois with the match beginning at 10 a.m.
