Ball State's men's golf team is tied for sixth at the Mid-American Conference Championships after the first two rounds of play at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
The Cardinals managed a 303-304=607 in Friday's first two rounds. Kent State leads the event with a 564, while Eastern Michigan is second with a 594.
Ball State will begin the third round Saturday with an 8:50 tee time. The tournament's final round is scheduled for Sunday.
Joe Gasser leads the Cardinals after posting a 74-75=149 and is tied for 14th. Brodie Williams is tied for 17th after carding a 75-75=150.
Tyler Merkel and TJ Carpenter are tied for 27th. Merkel managed a 78-77=155, while Carpenter tallied a 76-79=155. Tony Lazzara tied for 32nd with a 79-77=156.
