Fleck was named the MAC Coach of the Year after leading the Cardinals to a second place finish at the league championships. The second place showing was the third top three finish in the last six seasons for Fleck. He also guided the Cardinals to the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational Championship during the regular season, marking the team's 12th tourney crown in his 13 years at the helm. This marked the first time Fleck has received the honor, which is voted on by the league's head coaches.
Steger was named to the All-MAC First Team after earning second-team honors in 2010. He was also named to the MAC All-Tournament Team after finishing third at the league championships with a 69-71-75-74=289. Steger averaged 72.68 on the season and posted six top-10 and eight top-20 finishes in 10 events. He tallied his first collegiate victory with a win at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in April.
Merkel was named the MAC's Co-Freshman of the Year and to the All-MAC Second Team. He shared the Freshman of the Year honors with Brian Churchill-Smith of Eastern Michigan. Merkel tied for seventh at the MAC Championships with a 75-71-74-75=295, marking his third top-10 and sixth top-20 placing in 10 events this season. Merkel managed his first career victory at the adidas Hoosier Invitational in April. Merkel's selection as the MAC Co-Freshman of the Year marks the first time a Ball State golfer has been honored with the award since its inception in 1994.
