Men's Golf Ties for Fifth at Mizzou Tournament
Ball State's men's golf team tied for fifth out of 16 teams at the Columbia Orthopedic Group Mizzou Intercollegiate at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Mo.
The Cardinals managed a 309-324-298=931 and tied with DePaul and Arkansas-Little Rock. Missouri won the event with a 900 team score.
Alex Stinson led the Cardinals and placed third overall with a 75-74-73=222. Joe Gasser tied for 23rd with a 77-82-75=234. Eric Steger tied for 30th after carding a 77-82-76=235. Tyler Merkel managed an 80-86-74=240, while TJ Carpenter shot an 82-88-85=255.
The course played 7,221 yards and to a par 72 for the two day tournament.
Joining Ball State at the event are Arkansas-Little Rock, Belmont, Creighton, Cincinnati, DePaul, Eastern Michigan, IUPUI, Missouri, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Oral Roberts, South Dakota State, Toledo and Xavier.
