Ball State's men's golf team, under the direction of head coach Mike Fleck, will host the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational Saturday and Sunday at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
The annual tournament is named in honor of Coach Yestingsmeier, who spent 31 seasons as the Ball State head men's golf coach, including 28 in a dual role as sports information director and golf coach. The team's most avid fan, Yestingsmeier rarely misses a Ball State golf tournament home or away.
The 15-team event at DCC will play to 6,438 yards and to a par 70. Joining Ball State will be Austin Peay, Butler, Cincinnati, Cleveland State, Dayton, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Louisville, SIU-Edwardsville, Ohio, Valparaiso, Vincennes, Wright State and Youngstown State.
The tournament will be a six players scoring five format. There will be 54 holes played Saturday beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and the final 18 holes Sunday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
