BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Ball State women's basketball team (5-11, 2-1 MAC) suffered a 73-42 loss at Bowling Green (11-5, 2-1 MAC) in Mid-American Conference action Wednesday at the Stroh Center.
The Cardinals were led by sophomore guard Brittany Carter with a 11 points while teammate junior guard Brandy Woody had seven. Defensively freshmen guards Nathlie Fontaine and Taylor Miller each had six rebounds apiece.
Bowling Green led the entire contest, the Cardinals were held to a 25.9 shooting mark from the field while the Falcons shot 47.3 percent for the game.
At halftime Ball State trailed Bowling Green by a score of 38-19 after BGSU opened the game with a quick basket. The Cardinals answered back with free throws from junior guard Brandy Woody knotting the game at 2-2 with 19:03 on the clock.
After that, the Falcons went on a 19-0 run to make it a 21-2 ball game from the 18:45 mark until Ball State knocked down free throws with 11:45 remaining in the half.
With 8:33 remaining junior guard Lyzz Smith hit her shot from behind the arc for the Cardinals to make the score 23-8.
