What's On Tap: Ball State opens the 2012-13 regular season at home Friday, against in-state rival Evansville. First year head coach Brady Sallee guided the Ball State women's basketball team to a 88-26 season opening exhibition win over Oakland City (Ind.) Oct. 31 in Worthen Arena. Topping all scorers was junior guard Brandy Woody who had 16-points on the night; she also managed a double-double after pulling down 12 rebounds. Three other Cardinals also scored in double figures; newcomer forward Nathalie Fontaine had 15 points while teammate senior Shannee' Jackson chipped in 15 points and sophomore guard Shelbie justice ended the night with 12. Jackson also pulled down 9 rebounds and Fontaine had eight.

About Evansville: The Purple Aces got off to a slow start in their exhibition game Saturday against Southern Indiana but managed to fight their way back to a 65-47 victory. Senior Taylor Ware led all scorers with 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds while teammate Meagan Collins also scored in double figures with 13 points. Ball State is one of two schools in the Mid-American Conference that Evansville will face this season as the Purple Aces will travel to Toledo, Dec. 20-21.

Sallee's career coaching record is 136-109 . . . he was named the the 11th head women's basketball coach in Ball State history, May 10 . . . Evansville's head coach is Oties Epps and he enters his second season with the Purple Aces . . . Epps overall record at Evansville is 5-25, while his Missouri Valley Conference record is 2-16 . . .
