WBB Suffers 74-43 Loss To MAC West Champions EMU
YPSILANTI, Mich. - In a game that the Eastern Michigan Eagles led from the start to finish, the Ball State women's basketball team could not recover from the Eagles 33-point halftime lead and fell by an 74-43 margin.
With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 9-19 on the season and 4-11 in Mid-American Conference action, while Eastern Michigan improves to 21-7 overall and 13-2 in the MAC.
Behind a 51.3 shooting percentage in the first half, Eastern Michigan built a 47-14 lead at intermission. The Cardinals committed 12 first half miscues and shot only 13.3 percent from the field.
For the game, senior forward co-captain Suzanne Grossnickle managed her fourth double-double this season after leading the Cardinals with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guard Brittany Carter added eight points and sophomore guard Jordan Huber had six.
The Ball State University women's basketball team will host Toledo Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Worthen Arena where the Cardinals will recognize their three seniors, Amber Crago, Megan Craft and Grossnickle.
