MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State University women's basketball team (8-15, 3-7 MAC) suffered a 61-37 loss to Buffalo (7-17, 2-8 MAC) in Worthen Arena Saturday afternoon.
Ball State was held to a 20.4 shooting percentage for the game and trailed the entire second half, while Buffalo managed a 44.4 shooting percentage. The Bulls won the glass out-rebounding the Cardinals 50-to-32.
The Cardinals opened the game with a jumper from senior forward Suzanne Grossnickle to take the early 2-0 edge over the Bulls. After one lead change and three ties, Buffalo managed to put together a 20-5 run to end the half up 30-15 over Ball State.
For the game junior guard Shanee' Jackson led the Cardinals with nine points including 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc. Senior forward Suzanne Grossnickle had eight points and five rebounds on the day.
The Ball State women's basketball team continues league action Saturday at Ohio with a 2 p.m. tipoff.
