WBB on the Road at Kent State Wednesday

Scouting Ball State:  The Cardinals are on a five-game losing streak as they enter Wednesday's contest at Kent State.  Ball State currently owns an overall record of 7-14 and are 2-6 in the Mid-American Conference.  Jazmin Hitchens leads the Cardinals in scoring averaging 10.2 points per game; Hitchens and classmate Katie Murphy both are at the top of the leader board in rebounding for Ball State with 4.1 rebounds per contest.  Ball State is coming off of a 72-61 loss on the road to Miami, Suzanne Grossnickle led Ball State with a career high 18 points plus added six rebounds. Brittany Carter added 10 points.

Scouting Kent State:  The Golden Flashes had won three league games in a row before losing at Northern Illinois Saturday, 66-55.  Kent State enters Wednesday's contest with an overall record of 5-13 and a Mid-American Conference mark of 4-4.  The Golden Flashes are led by Trisha Krewson and Diamon Beckford.  Krewson is averaging 12.1 points per game and Beckford adds 10.9 points per contest, while they both are averaging a team best 6.1 rebounds.  Kent State has posted MAC victories over Ohio, Buffalo, Central Michigan and Western Michigan so far this season.

The Coaches: Ball State head coach Kelly Packard is in her fourth season at Ball State . . . Packard's overall record at Ball State is 56-61 (.478), while her Mid-American Conference mark is 27-29 . . . Bob Lindsay is in his 23rd season at Kent State. . .Lindsay's overall record with the Golden Flashes is 417-248 and owns a MAC record of 259-113.

The Series:  This is the 50th meeting between Ball State and Kent State . . . The Golden Flashes lead the all-time series record 36-13. . . Ball State won its last meeting over Kent State last season in overtime by a score of 69-65 . . . Jazmin Hitchens recorded her first collegiate double-double that game after a 13-point, 12-rebound performance . . . The Cardinals lost 72-63 the last time they played at the Memorial Athletic Convocation Center in 2010.
