MUNCIE, Ind.- Ball State women's basketball-student-athletes Jade Barber and Patrice King have been granted a release and will seek to transfer to another institution, according to Ball State head women's basketball coach Kelly Packard.

"We appreciate the energy and time commitment both Patrice and Jade contributed toward our program," Packard says.  "We wish them success as they pursue other opportunities."

Barber and King, both sophomores on the 2009-10 team, spent two seasons with the Cardinals (2008-10).  Barber averaged 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, while tallying 28 career blocks.  Barber scored a career high 13 points against Iowa State in the second round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament Regional at Western Kentucky last season.  King averaged 6.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in her career.  King started 20 games in her two seasons for the Cardinals.  She had a personal best performance of 16 points at Illinois State during her freshman season.
