What's On Tap:  Ball State begins a two-game homestand in Mid-American Conference action this week when it hosts Central Michigan Thursday at 7 p.m. and Toledo Sunday at 2 p.m.  The Cardinals are currently tied for first in the MAC West Division with the Chippewas and the Rockets.  Ball State improved to 4-0 against MAC West Division opponents last week after defeating Western Michigan (73-50) and Eastern Michigan (56-41).  The Cardinals' victory at EMU extended Ball State's win streak to five.  Ball State is 10-11 overall and 7-1 in league action which is the best conference start for Ball State since the 2006-07 season.  Central Michigan suffered its first MAC loss after losing to Bowling Green on the road by a score of 84-59 Sunday, Feb. 3.  The Chippewas enter the game versus the Cardinals with a 13-8 overall record and are 7-1 in conference action.

About Central Michigan:  The Chippewas started Mid-American Conference play winning seven straight and was the lone league team to remain undefeated until suffering its aloss at Bowling Green (84-59) Feb. 3.  Central Michigan has already knocked off Toledo (73-66) Jan. 10, Eastern Michigan (73-66) Jan. 13, Western Michigan (72-58) Jan. 16, Northern Illlinois (83-56) Jan. 19, Ohio University (77-48) Jan. 23, Akron (92-69) Jan. 26 and Kent State (91-44) Jan. 31.  The Chippewas have three players averaging double figures; Crystal Bradford (15.1 ppg), Jessica Green (11.6 ppg) and Jessica Schroll (10.6 ppg).  Defensively Bradford is averaging the most rebounds with 9.4 per contest.

The Coaches: Ball State head coach Brady Sallee is in his first season at Ball State.   Sallee's career coaching record is 146-120 and he is 10-11 overall and 7-1 in the MAC with the Cardinals.  He was named the 11th head women's basketball coach in Ball State history May 10.  During his tenure at Eastern Illinois, Sallee posted a 136-109 career record.  He led the Panthers to the institution's first-ever Ohio Valley Conference title during the 2009-10 campaign. In 2011-12, Eastern Illinois was 22-9 overall, posted a 13-3 OVC mark and competed in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.  Sue Guevara is currently in her sixth season as the head women's basketball coach of the Chippewas.  She has has rebuilt Central Michigan back to its former glory, contending for championships in the Mid-American Conference. The Chippewas have won 70 games in the last four seasons, including the fifth 20-win campaign in program history in 2011-12.  Guervara's coaching record at CMU is 89-90 and she owns a 41-8 MAC record.
